Joining the advertising industry was like stepping into a whirlwind of innovation and fast-paced strategies. As a new employee with little to no background of this market, I was not only tasked with understanding the intricacies of advertising technology but also delving into the complex worlds of Demand Side Platforms (DSPs), Supply Side Platforms (SSPs), and renowned platforms like The Trade Desk (TTD), Xandr, and DV360.
Embarking on a journey into the advertising side of business as a new employee was like stepping into a labyrinth of new concepts, exciting technologies, and a barrage of industry jargon. But little did I know that this rollercoaster ride would lead me to grasp and understand a groundbreaking product that transformed the way advertisers and buyers interacted with their ad campaigns: Adwallet our product, a cutting-edge platform that automated the process of capturing ad screenshots for advertisers and buyers, was a game-changer in the industry. Gone were the days of manually pulling ad screenshots; our innovation seamlessly integrated with GAM, TTD, Xandr, and DV360, automating the capture and delivery of ad screenshots across a variety of ad formats and devices. From native to banner, interstitial to video, rich media to connected TV – our product covered it all.
The early days were a whirlwind of learning, adaptation, and discovery. The world of advertising was a maze of acronyms and buzzwords, and I was determined to understand every facet of it, I immersed myself in the language of the industry. Each day presented a new challenge as I grappled with understanding the unique requirements of our diverse customers. From publishers seeking specific ad formats to advertisers who needed accurate ad screenshots for their campaigns, I had to be a solution provider, a guide through uncharted territory. I realized that every interaction was an opportunity to learn and grow – to comprehend the pain points, interpret the needs, and offer tailored solutions.
One of the significant breakthroughs in my work came with learning how to wield dfp (DoubleClick for Publishers/Google Ad Manager) commands. This internal tool allowed me to query vital information about clients line items, order numbers, ad units, paths, key targeting, and much more. It was like unlocking a treasure trove of data that empowered me to offer even more precise and efficient support to our customers. As the days turned into weeks and weeks into months, my path from a novice to a knowledgeable cog in the Adwallet machine was extraordinary. Whether it was troubleshooting a technical glitch or helping a customer decipher the complexity of their campaign, I was equipped with the knowledge and the tools to provide meaningful assistance.
All the progress that I have made so far would not have been possible without the support and guidance I have received from my colleagues. Without a doubt, the Adwallet team was well fused, focused, and motivated to make sure I became one of their own. I only had to benefit from all the channels they have opened for me. While I am aware I still have much to learn and understand, I am confident that, with the help of the entire team, I will continue to grow, adding value to this new, complex, exciting and amazing product that is Adwallet and I can't wait to help more and more clients around the world automate ad screenshots!
